Description: Cowford Ordnance Workers Society
Relevant Events:
During the war of 1812, Cowford's port severed as a transshipping point for arms and ammunition being shipped to the USA by allies and other countries. Due to several destructive incidents in munitions handling, Dock workers and Teamsters working on the shipments decided to form a Professional Society to train, control and regulate such shipping, and later manufacturing, activities in Cowford. While the propensity for accidents failed to diminish, their effects where much less catastrophic and more localized away from civilians and bystanders.
Know by the acronym "COWS" the society has allowed Cowford to remain a major shipping port and production site for explosives, munitions and Military equipment for many countries of the world, including both sides in the recent unpleasantness between our northern neighbours and the southern states.
